Always Solid --AMENDED REVIEW
OK- After their first single, SAN QUENTIN I wrote the below- After purchasing the album, I am amending my review. This is the first album of theirs that I really dont care for. After the first single, its boring, uninspired and seems like they put no effort into it. The ballads are alright, but those are the best songs. Nothing rocks outside of San Quentin, which is lyrically kinda weak for a band with incredible rhyming ability. BELOW is my original review.
TO the idiots who rank them low. Yeah, well, you can go (%(^%^(&$) yourself. Listen, for some reason, which escapes me, they get a bad rap, yet sell millions of albums continually. This lends me to believe that all those giving negative reviews only do so publically, but privately, they buy the albums and tell their friends that someone gave them the album as a gift.
They rock, pure and simple. They wont go down in history as the best musicians, but lyrically they know how to write catchy, hooking ryhmes. The music flows, and its heavy and rocks. So, keep your negative garbage to yourselves cause you know you are going to buy this album, just like you have all their previous ones.
I’m not a fan of this stuff and the five bonus acoustic tracks, are the best recordings on the album. If you add the deluxe version, with all five acoustic tracks. I will probably buy.
Another Home Run
From AZ Sons of Liberty250
I’m 54 years old and love hard rock dating to AC/DC, Ozzy, Metallica, FFDP, etc. I honestly think Nickeback has never made a bad record. This one kicks some serious butt. San Quentin rocks hard. Great album.
If you like good, solid rock music with lyrics that mean something then, in my opinion, you’re going to like this. There’s not a single track that I don’t like and will be listening to this a lot, especially right now, to get a break from the seasonal stuff. Great job!!
From Dead Kennedys are dead
For all the flack this band gets this is a decent rocking album. Couple of cheesy tunes but over all it’s solid. Nice job, still like Leader of Men best.
It’s so bad it’s good

From The Cross is Enough!
For a band that took a 4 year hiatus, Get Rollin' is very average. I like 3 songs. In order: Steel Still Rusts, Tidal Wave, and Just 1 More. The rest is very forgettable. The songs are overly repetitive and just not well crafted. I was expecing more from Nickelback but I am still a fan and they have enough great content from the past to make a killer tour.
From The Sox Kid
Perfect album. Much better than the last two the released. Feels like the old-school Nickelback and just hits different like it did in the early 2000’s. This album is a callback to what they do best and it absolutely works.
For NB Fans!
From stop the pop
The trendy haters sure do spend a lot of time bashing this band. This album rocks!! While I’ve enjoyed their entire catalog, they were getting a bit experimental for a minute, perhaps for themselves or perhaps to try and appease the haters. If the latter was the case, they’ve apparently realized that those chuckleheads will never be satisfied but their long-time fan base still exists. This album fits right into the All the Right Reasons and Dark Horse era. Completed with hard rock bangers (San Quentin-perhaps their hardest rocking song ever & Skinny Little Missy), classic NB-style ballads (Does Heaven Even Know You’re Missing, Those Days) and laid back groovers (High Time, Tidal Wave).
They remain one of the best live rock bands out there. Looking forward to this tour!
Roll Right By This One
After the hard edged opening track, the rest of it deteriorates quickly, never again flexing the muscle of the album’s lead single.
